My TV Show Music Placements

I have had many tv show music placements and you can too. I started getting my songs and instrumentals into a music production library about ten years ago.

I then was able to add music to a variety of libraries. After about two years I started receiving performance royalties from ASCAP, my performance royalty organization (PRO), as these libraries placed my music on tv.

In addition, I started receiving synch fees and other various upfront licensing fees. Every year I make more as I create more tv show music. It takes some effort and you need to be patient, but the checks definitely start coming.

I have listed below the networks and television shows that my music has been placed in. All it takes is those first couple of placements to get the ball rolling and then your music gets used more and more. In addition, tv shows are played again and again, and you get paid every time.

TV show music is any kind of well recorded music that fits a particular scene. Libraries are always looking for prolific writers with LOTS of excellent material in a variety of genres.

To listen to or to license any of my music, visit my catalogue.

I also recently wrote an instrumental acoustic album for Manchester Music Library which is also available for listening and licensing. Click image.

The following two products are excellent and helped me get tv show music placements. I recommend that you explore them both.

1.
a-z directory
A colleague of mine from the Berklee College of Music named Aaron Davison, developed a program called The A-Z of Music Licensing. I learned a lot from this step by step program and I recommend this product if you are starting out in music licensing and you're not sure where to begin. He also gives a comprehensive list of music libraries, and music publishers to send your music!

2.
Music Library Report
In addition, I would recommend checking out the Music Library Report. This is an awesome site that not only lists almost 400 music libraries on the web, but it rates them. You can also network with other writers and composers and join in discussions. You can join the report for as low as $9.95.
