My name is Colin O'Dwyer. Thanks for visiting my site! This is my "about" page where I will give you a quick background on my experiences in the music industry and why I think I have a lot to offer anyone trying to break into songwriting and/or music licensing.
BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC
I attended Berklee from 1987-1991 with a major in Songwriting. Although, I sing, guitar was my principal instrument. After graduating, I self released my first CD entitled Some Kind of Attraction. About 4 years later I was signed to AMG Records with my band Oddwyre. We recorded and mixed at Electric Lady Studios in NYC.
As I was pursuing my performing and writing career, I also received my Masters in Education from the University of Massachusetts from 1993-1995. I have been a music teacher at the James Otis School in Boston, MA for 25 years. It's a fabulous school where I have been able to develop an arts program which culminates every year in a full blown children's musical performed for the Boston community at large.
In 2004 I started learning about music licensing where I began pitching my music to various music libraries which in turn began to place my music in a variety of TV Shows.
Below is the bio I use when submitting to music libraries:
Pop-Rock Songwriter/Producer Colin O’Dwyer has had songs placed on NBC, FOX, HBO, ABC, Bravo, Discovery, WeTv, MTV, VH1, A&E, Style Network, Travel Channel, and Yes Network, with shows including The Voice, Hollywood Access, Late Night with Carson Daly, Nascar, Tiny House Nation, Nightmare Next Door, The Nate Berkus Show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Auction Kings, Amazing Wedding Cakes, Room Raiders, Into the Blue, Date My Mom, and Playboy Celebrity Series.

Colin is also a composer for Howcast.com, where his instrumental cues have been used to create 103 "how to" videos and growing.

In 2012 I came across Site Build It, which is a comprehensive way to build a high value, quality content website. I have been able to take all of my music experiences and bring them together in one informative site which has quickly flown up the Alexa Website Page Rankings. As a result, I am able to sell a number of excellent products which provide value to my visitors and a nice supplemental income for me.
If you have a particular expertise in some area of music or any content area, I highly recommend that you watch this video about Site Build It.
